The latter days are upon us. It feels like fall. Suddenly afternoons in the park are brisk rather than sweltering, and walking off the street and into the sauna in a spa doesn’t feel redundant.
On a recent afternoon that was not only brisk but rainy, a small band of us visited a lovely spot in midtown called Athena Spa, where they’re cool about nudity, even the co-ed variety. The environment isn’t so photo-friendly (ever try carrying a fancy digital camera into a steam room?), but we snapped a few pics of ourselves in maximum relaxation mode.
Well, maybe not absolute maximum—but for the moments that were even more relaxing than these we turned the camera off.
Can’t remember the last time I saw such an impressive tush. Compliments to the owner.
It is in fact one helluva bottom.
Reblogged this on home clothes free.
I knew this day would come. Winter.
I’m starting to wonder: are you folks passing around James M. Cain’s “Cocktail Waitress” because everyone wants to read it, or is it a prop to establish credibility for the pulp fiction part of your group title?
Gorgeous images, as always!

We’re not passing it around, we got multiple copies given to us by the publisher.
We also got multiple copies of THE TWENTY-YEAR DEATH and JOYLAND, which is why you’ve seen those in multiple hands.
What a kick! Good for you. Perhaps any number of publishers might be interested?
Cheers,
bb
Great that Athena Spa is cool with Nudity.
Their website specifies separate men’s and women’s sections. Can you fill us in on what the deal is there?
They have a space you can book as a couple or as a group. If you just come by yourself, yes, you’ll be separated into the men-only space (or women-only, as the case might be).
Lovely as usual…can’t wait to see your next stop!
I wonder if you mightn’t be able to obtain books from less-well known authors, such as those found on Goodreads.
My wife (our town librarian) will occasionally receive (unsolicited) for our public library books that their authors wish to place there. (When she posts to that site, she usually notes she is the town library director.)
We could and we have…in fact, we got so many generous offers from authors and publishers that we ended up with more books than we could ever get around to reading (much less photographing ourselves reading), so we’ve pretty much made it a policy at this point not to accept any more books (though we’re always glad to accept suggestions). We made an exception for Elmore Leonard, because, well…it was Elmore Leonard. And we make an exception for Hard Case Crime because they’ve been with us from the start and have a special place in our hearts. But otherwise we politely decline offers of free books…
If I’ve to choose an image for making an sculpture for women I will choose the last picture. Not only on Ch…. magnificent bodyshape, but also in the tenderness she inspires on doing simple things on life like reading. She has a natural way of making pictures more real. This is one of your best´s post.
Please more photos, or at least reply and say they’ll be no more photos. A person can still hope.
No more photos from that particular day, but there are always more photos from other days…
This is one of your sexiest posts and yet it only has 17 comments and so few photos. Am I among the few that want more photos (please)!
Glad you like it – but those are the only photos that exist. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the spa with our cameras out. Just not the environment for it. (Wet, hot, etc.)
You can go there for just the sauna and shower room I believe, and that is coed nudity.
If you’re talking about this particular spa, no, you can’t go just for the sauna. You have to get a massage or other treatment. And normally women and men are kept separate. There are other spas in New York, though, where you can go just to use the facilities and where women and men share a co-ed space.
Any suggestions?
Well, there’s always Juvenex, which is coed after 5pm, and where you can go just for the sauna and steam room and soaking tubs, etc. But during coed hours you can’t walk around naked. 😦
Ah well, the women are so beautiful and the men are, well, just hung.
