Most of the time we confine ourselves to Manhattan — more a matter of laziness than principle, really, and even the laziness doesn’t make much sense when you consider how many of us live in Brooklyn. Perhaps it’s the centrality that attracts us. In any event: we generally meet in Manhattan. But with summer winding down, and with one of our number having access to a lovely rooftop sundeck in an Outer Borough, we decided to peregrinate to the other side of the river. And look what we found when we got there:
Just a little reminder of what we stand for. Individual liberty — and huddled masses yearning to breathe free. If only she wore her robe draped just a little more loosely, hers could. And why not? She is French, after all.
We were joined on our afternoon adventure by a reporter from the New York Times, who wanted to learn more about our group and why we do what we do; you may see a report from them sometime over the coming weeks. (Here we are striking a pose for her camera. Because why not. We’re proud of what we do.)
We were also joined by some bagels and black-and-white cookies from Barney Greengrass, some bubbly intoxicants from Ms. Liberty’s homeland, and books by two Kings (Stephen and Lily).
Later in the afternoon we wandered over to Prospect Park, where someone with no knowledge of the law called 911 on us, causing the police to roll up, see that we weren’t doing anything illegal, and roll on. But that’s a subject for another post. For now, let’s remember the happier parts of the day — when Liberty was in sight, and no one was trying to dismantle her.
Looks lovely ladies!
Did you get the reporter from the Times to participate with you, or was she just an observer?
Reporters should always just be observers, not participants. Some don’t adhere strictly to that, though. No comment on which was the case this time.
Your no comment speaks volumes 🙂
I hope she had a good time.
Though often we are, in this case we weren’t trying to be cute — this ‘no comment’ really just meant no comment. We didn’t mean to imply anything one way or the other.
As the statue’s full title is Liberty Enlightening the World, it seems particularly appropriate that you lovely ladies were doing your bit to enlighten the world to the joys of top-liberated sunbathing under her watchful, though distant, gaze. Maybe a future venue could be Liberty island itself, so that she can enjoy the fruits of her inspiration at closer quarters? I think she’d like that.
Is that insect repellent the gal in the 9th photo is using? Are bugs a problem at that height? (I’m from mid-Missouri,no building that tall here for me to experience.) Looks like you all had a good time.
Insect repellent? It’s sunscreen!
What a lovely way to view Lady Liberty and the city. I hope you receive the reporting that you deserve. More people need to be aware of the freedoms you enjoy,
9-1-1!! Seriously?? It is difficult to believe that enjoying one’s body is an emergency in anyone’s mind. What a shame that we live in such a society. Keep up the good work, ladies!
In the Bible Belt a few months ago (I forgot where) one woman got jailed 90 days after someone saw her topfree on her own property!!
I think the maximum penalty for a female going without a shirt is three years behind bars.
If true, that’s horrifying.
I love the four-image sequence before the last image in your post. There’s a story there. (Well, of course there is. There’s always a story.)
I’m guessing the girls are still getting their opinion of the recent breast augmentation on one of the other members.
I may not have been there in person, but her breasts certainly looked great!
And if there was any violence in the area, that same person would have let it go.
“For now, let’s remember the happier parts of the day — when Liberty was in sight, and no one was trying to dismantle her.”
Nicely written.
Second that.
I agree with Joe. Without getting icky, tell us the story of the four-photo collection!
One of our members had her breasts enlarged and was excited to let the rest of us see how great they feel. They do, indeed, feel pretty great.
Thank you. I’d certainly agree!
They certainly looked fantastic. I am sure her significant other would agree.
Hi, I would like to let you know that I use a photo from this page to make an illustration/digital painting.

Very cool.
Absolutely gorgeous photographs! I commend you ladies for not being ashamed of showing off all of your beautiful bodies! Amazing that people in the United States are so afraid of seeing one of the most beautiful things in life… the female body.
I will be posting an article about my experience walking Brighton and Coney Island Beaches bare-chested this morning. It was quite an experience… https://breastsarehealthy.wordpress.com/ Bravo as always on what you are building here. Well done.
Hi Ladies, i love what you all are doing and being a nudist myself i applaude you all and would love to join you all and the lady who got her breasts done i must say they do look really nice on her as she is one of my favourites, well done ladies
