For the fourth year in a row, we celebrated the end of summer (which, okay, technically hasn’t come yet…but it sure feels like it has) by visiting the rooftop pool at the Dream Hotel.
They set aside one of their freshly redesigned cabanas for us, and we filled it with food and beverages courtesy of the hotel’s kitchen and bar — chips and guac and tuna tartare and a burger that mysteriously came with shrimp on it as a topping; and champagne, plenty of champagne.
We brought other things with us as well, such as one of our Doobs, those little 3D-printed statues of ourselves we had made earlier in the year…
…as well as numerous books, ranging from our habitual pulp fiction, both in English and in Portuguese—
–to non-fiction such as Laura Kipnis’ latest…
…and something called Ethical Porn for Dicks, which somehow inspired a puppy pile.
When we weren’t ingesting intoxicants in physical or literary form, we swam in the pool, which was a bit chilly but still very, very satisfying.
We took photos of each other and shared them with everyone in our life who might enjoy them.
(Leis helpfully supplied by one member helped keep some selfies Instagram- and Facebook-friendly. Though sometimes it didn’t really work.)
And we even converted a spectator to our cause — she saw us having a great time and eventually came over and joined in.
She wasn’t our only first timer either: another new friend who’s been emailing with us since July finally managed to make it to one of our events, and we’re so glad she did. She told us she had a great time, and that she has two sisters she hopes to bring in the future. We’re thrilled. The more the merrier, to coin a phrase.
Speaking of which: If you’d like to join us for some outdoor topless adventures, it’s not too late. We still have events in September each year, sometimes even October. (One year, even December!) And once outdoor toplessness is no longer feasible, we’ll continue to meet over the colder months, only we’ll do it indoors, where maybe the sun won’t shine, but we nevertheless find ways to entertain ourselves.
If you’re interested, please drop us a note at toplesspulpfiction@gmail.com. We’re happy to answer any questions you have.
In the meantime, we’ll leave you with a few more glimpses of our day in the sun. Just think: this could be you next time.
It’s the stuff that dreams are made of.
Portuguese, aye ? Even if I can’t join in (I’m a man…), if some day, one of you wants to refresh her french, I’d be glad to send you one of my books as a token of support !
That’s very thoughtful of you! We do have a few members who have brought French books to our events (or books in French, in any event — one was a translation of Harry Potter). But for various reasons, including not wanting to wind up with more books piled up than we could ever get around to reading, we’ve got a policy of taking only recommendations from authors, not actual physical books. So if you’d like to share a title or two with us, one of us might hunt down a copy at some point — but please don’t ship us actual books from France. 🙂
Okay then. my last one is called “Les arbres, en hiver”, and it got mightily good reviews (much to my surprise) It might bring some exoticism, it’s a serial killer (sort of) story set in the snowbound mountains of Jura !
I don’t read French (and my speaking is unspeakable), sadly, but the whole “he speaks to the forest and the forest speaks to him” thing is intriguing.
Another great outing! I’m just a little envious of your freedom, while I’m stuck in the boring Midwest. Keep it up.
Wonderful pics, and a suitably rousing finale to this year’s summer. As a new year of activity starts, I wish all of you at OCTPFAS a happy and productive autumn/fall and I look forward to reading and seeing reports of your indoor activities. Stay warm, stay topless!
Thanks for mentioning “Ethical Porn for Dicks.” Hadn’t seen it but it’s already on the way from Amazon Marketplace. Images are excellent. What are the odd dark shapes in the pool? Hatches for ICBM launches?
Perhaps. But they told us they were just windows down to the lobby below. 🙂
Love the peekaboo top!
I didnt want the fotos to end. Perhaps the merriest breast event yet.
and the most cosiest! Naturally!!
A lot of fun pics showing the world how fun and natural it is to be topless.
Was that a copy of Millennium’s The Girl Who Played With Fire #1, two days before the release date? My local shop still doesn’t have it. I’m impressed.
Yes, it was. We know people. 🙂
And if you told us how you got it, you’d have to kill us ? 😉
This seems to me the kind of social event the group should have more of- it is a time and place where being topless should be normal, and book reading. Similar to gatherings you have in Central Park.
The difference is that going to Central Park is free! And booking a cabana at the Dream Hotel is wonderful but far from free. So once a year is pretty much the most we can afford. But otherwise we agree. It is a perfect setting for toplessness, and we’d be glad to do it more often.
